Hmm Stuff

Funny how things seem to come crashing down on you sometimes...

That aside, I've been seeing lots of beautiful moments recently on my move around Scandinavian Europe: A wedding in Tallinn, then a church blessing of a baby in Helsinki the very next day.

But more importantly, I see my friends happy and the love in the smiles that they send through brief eye contact and small gestures; and I smile with happiness for them, but not without a small tinge of something within. I want that too, of course.

And I start to realise with increasing clarity what I want: A best friend, for life, and to go through life with. It's that simple. But is it really? The simplest things always do seem the hardest to get sometimes. At least a clearer idea has helped to navigate the fog... somewhat.

Miles

I actually went to look this piece of information up, JUST to show how ridiculous I am and am feeling right now...

5081.673 miles away - literally half the world around - and I'm curled up in the bed, pining away over here?!?! Whattttttttttttttttttttt.... is going on man.

I feel so stupid and ridiculous and ludicrous and foolish and silly and idiotic. Yeah.

Just because someone said he misses me. And being me, I start to think and over-think and it even gets so far as to imagining things to say in Malay to a thief who might sneak into our train compartment to steal stuff. What train?! Yeah a train travelling through Malaysia. Why would we be taking that train?! Because we're travelling through SEA duh. But why would we have a compartment and only be the two of us?! Because ... because that's how I imagine trains! And still, why trains?! Planes are the usual mode of transport dumbo. Or buses. I know! But but... argh this is my imagination, not my fault it runs away on its own yeah!

Sigh. Girls. Silly things they are. I am.

First Frost

Lund: First frost today!

The Eurotrip has been progressing pretty nicely so far. Impressions so far are...

St Gallen: Charming, modern, but small enough to walk around; Couchsurfing!
Appenzell: Unfortunately rainy
Santis: Amazing views with few few other tourists

Munich: Amazingly friendly people, festive cheer and Christkindlmarkt!
Berlin: Brusque, gray and rainy introduction to the city; a most animated walking tour; rounded off by one of the most fun times I've had hanging out at a hostel/bar, playing card games with a dude I met a few hours ago, and having the most delicious doner kebab at 3.30am!

Lund: friends, quaint town with houses that make me want to stay in them!

Time to buckle down and get on with my essay raaaaa.
I don't know why I ever thought I would even have time to do work on the trip. Or well, I probably can make time, but there's certainly no mood to do anything of that sort. Blah.

Intense

I don't know why I ever thought I might have a lot of spare time with nothing to do (hence I left all the planning till now - or maybe it's just an excuse) but yeah... how far from the truth. This always happens though - so I don't even know why I'm surprised.... lol.

Last Japan match today at the WFC against Australia and it was... more frustrating than ever. But had a good dinner with Kumi-san, Reto, and David today. Intense discussion over coffee after that too.

Wow =)

CS #1

Tonight's the first night + first time CS-ing; and it's a blast so far!

My hosts were really sweet - made Rosti and sausage dinner, then baked Xmas cookies with two more of their friends over - Norman and Pabla. First time meeting everybody but they're really good at making people feel at home =)

Made three different cookies too: Milandhandle (sp?), Spitzbuben, and I forgot the last one.

I hope I'll get to cook something for them in return too =)
